As we come into the second half of the year, bridal party gift choices are proving interesting — and revealing. This year on into spring 2012, boys will be boys and girls will be girls when it comes tobridesmaid and groomsman gifts. You’re still sophisticated but are showing your playful side, and we love it!
Here are some up-and-coming wedding party gift options that are popular among our kitschy, cool marrieds-to-be:
Bridesmaid and Maid of Honor Gifts: Girly + Glam = Perfect!
Your girls will be thrilled when they see what’s trendy for bridesmaid gifts. And the trends are (drum roll please)…
Oh So Girly
Lip balms, pink-encased grooming or carrying cases and glittery key chains are all hot this season. If it sparkles and shines and makes her feel like a girl, it’s in, so go for it! Cute 1950s-esque hand bag decorations and slinky jewelry pouches are great choices along this theme. So are faux jewels, jewel colored wedding favors and ultra-feminine pastels.
Ooh…jewelry. Have it monogrammed for a special touch.
Jewels Fit for a Bridesmaid
You’re queen for a day. Make sure your court is dressed to the occasion. A pretty piece of jewelry is an ideal gift for the friend who has stood beside you all along, and is there for you on your special day. Have the gift personalized with the bridesmaid’s or maid of honor’s initial. Priceless!
This year, bridesmaids are getting away from it all (after the wedding, of course!) and loving it! Try a sophisticated luggage piece, carry-on or bag for your maid of honor and bridesmaids. Toss in a pair of monogrammed flip-flops and you’ve got a great “weekend getaway” set they’ll use over and over again.
Groomsmen and Usher Gifts: You’ve Got Personality
Attention grooms: He covered for you in 6th grade when the bicycle ramp built over the fish tank was your idea. Now it’s time to thank him for that and for every act of friendship you’ve shared up to this special day. Whatever gifts you decide on for your groomsmen, make things personal witha monogrammed gift.
A Personal Touch
Traditional…and still oh so cool.
Monogramming is back in, and we’re glad — so hop on this trend with great groomsman gift choices. Go traditional for your father-in-law with an engraved pocket watch or money clip.
For your posse, take their personalities into account. A flask shows that party dude is all grown up, and an engraved keepsake box is one gift that won’t get lost on top of the dresser. Go ultra-traditional with a pair of cufflinks for your best man.
Luckily, sports are always in. Right now, golf seems to be the gentleman’s choice for every age group, so tee up with something golf themed that he’ll actually use (we promise). As above, have the gift personalized with the recipient’s initials.
Thanks to readers who have let us in on their favorite bridal party gifts (both as the recipients and as the givers). To those still in the planning stages, please leave a comment. Thanks as always for reading!
Weddings these days can go really expensive; a lot of couples are more into making their dream wedding to come true. Affluent weddings usually have intricate details not only on the wedding outfits and jewelry, but also on menu and wedding decorations. Giving gifts has been a tradition, but this is something that doesn’t need to be lavish. For most couples, giving bridal party gifts is one way for them to thank their wedding attendants. In fact, these gifts usually come in small tokens of gratitude for all the help and support that wedding attendants have given to the couple.
If you are a new bride and looking for bridal party gifts for your bridesmaids, count yourself lucky because the market has devised a wide variety of options for you; there are inexpensive line of gift items to choose from. It can be a bit doubtful to trust cheap items, because there’s a notion that cheap gifts don’t have that good quality that everyone’s looking for. If this is the reason of your worry, then worry no more because cheap gifts don’t need to look literally cheap. If time is a conflict to search for great deals, the Internet can be a good friend to you. By simply surfing the net, you can easily find cheaper items in no time without leaving your home.
Make your gifts as thoughtful as possible even if they are cheap. This is an ideal way to create gifts that are tasteful out of inexpensive items. It pays to know your bridesmaids well, because you can easily decide which right gifts to buy. Consider their personality and likes if you really want to come up with memorable gifts that are not too expensive for your budget.
Handmade gifts are another option when it comes to inexpensive bridal party gifts. If you can create your own presents, feel free to do so. Imagination is only the limit when it comes to gifts. Above all, you can save a lot if you make gifts yourself instead of buying pre-made ones. There are plenty of ideas that you can easily make, including homemade treats, gift baskets, and scrapbooks. If you are good enough to bead, creating beaded jewelry for your bridesmaids is really an excellent idea. They can wear those jewelry on your wedding day and long after.
Inexpensive bridesmaids gifts could also be edible treats that you can make at home. If you are good at baking, why not consider baking cookies for them. You may also consider scrapbooks, which is a creative idea as well. These are also a very thoughtful idea since you maybe including photographs and some personal messages and captions on the pages of the books.
Consider local dollar stores or thrift stores when looking for inexpensive bridesmaids gifts. Some of the items that they offer at very low prices are picture frames, compact mirrors, handkerchiefs, purses, hair accessories, and other more. These bridal party gifts can be personalized with the names or initials of your bridesmaids, making them personalized bridesmaids gifts that the ladies would surely appreciate.
Now that Lexi’s wedding is less than a month away (I have absolutely no idea where the time went), it’s time to start making the really hard decisions…specifically, what to do about my hair. Since I’ve moved to Vegas, I have completely forgotten how to do my hair in a humid climate. And let’s be honest…I actually LOVE a dry climate! My hair is a little less manageable, and even though my hair is shoulder length, I deceptively have a ton of hair (it’s very thick) with the wedding taking place in late June in Indiana…my hair is going to be an issue.
Lexi, being an amazing and thoughtful planner, has already considered that her bridesmaids might want someone to actually do their hair, and has 2 hair stylists lined up. Problem is what to do with my hair. I know that I absolutely hate the heat (I know that’s crazy, I live in Vegas and it gets into the 110s and above…my dislike is a remnant from living in Pittsburgh, PA for four years). It isn’t that I hate the heat, more I just can’t always seem to tolerate it as well as I would like. Living in Vegas, I’ve learned that during the summer, you only go out if you absolutely have to go out. With that in mind, I decided that having my formidable hair off my neck will help me make it through the day without really ever saying the phrase I’m famous for…”It’s hot!”
Again, Lexi is letting all of her bridesmaids pick their own hair style (I know…she’s amazing!), but I’m not the type of person who can easily make a decision….and rather than ask Lexi to make another decision on top of the one million she has already made, here are a few ideas that I’m thinking about:
There are a lot of important people who helped you prepare for your wedding day. From bridesmaids and groomsmen to flower girls and ring bearers, all of these people must be acknowledged for their patience, love and hard work. What better way to say “thank you” in style than with a personalized bridal party gift?
For the Bridesmaids, there are a wide variety of gifts that can be monogrammed or personalized. These gifts all check in at under $50 each so you don’t have to tap into the honeymoon till to express your gratitude.
For bridesmaids with a more practical sense of style, the Quilted Tote in style 4118-1113 comes in black, brown, navy and pink with a choice of 13 different colors for a monogram. Thread color choices include lavender, boysenberry, white, pink, hot pink, lime green, scarlet, sage, orange, pacific blue, chocolate, black or turquoise. The tote has handy side pockets and a key strap and is a gift that bridesmaids will get a lot of use out of.

Oval Trinket Box
A similar item is the Oval-Shaped Trinket Box. This silver-plated keepsake box has a soft velvet lining that is perfect for holding sentimental things. The box measures 3.5 inches long, 2.5 inches wide and 1.75 inches high. This silver trinket box can be engraved with a first name of up to 9 characters and is surprisingly affordable.
Top of Form
Groomsmen’s gifts tend to lean more toward the practical side of men than many of the gifts designed for the ladies. Personalization is a nice way to make these gifts more heartfelt.
Personalized Flask or Pilsner
On the manlier end of the spectrum, two classic gifts that would make Mad Men’s Don Draper proud are a Personalized Stainless Steel Leather Flask and the personalized Grand Pilsner with Pewter Medallion beer glass. The stainless steel leather flask holds 4 ounces of liquid and can be personalized with a first name of up to 15 characters.
For the beer aficionado groomsmen, what better gift than a pilsner glass with a personalized pewter medallion? The glass holds 22 ounces and can be refrigerated. There are five choices for the medallion which can be personalized with a first name and the date of the event. This king of all beer glasses also checks in with a pleasantly affordable price tag.
Gunmetal Pocket Watch
For the fashion conscious groomsman there is no better gift than the timelessly stylish Gunmetal Pocket Watch. Aptly named because of its gunmetal finish, this watch boasts a pearlescent and gold tone face. Personalization includes 3 block initials. This pocket watch comes in a mahogany – finish wood gift box.
Flower Girls and Ring Bearers
For the younger members of your bridal party like flower girls and ring bearers, there are a variety of options available.
For flower girls that are the creative types the Doodlebag in Pink has everything she needs to combat reception boredom. This 8 by 8 inch pink carryall bag contains a drawing pad, a 12-pack of Crayola chalk, a blackboard, an eraser and 24 Crayola crayons. The bag can be embroidered with a name of up to 8 letters on the front pocket with a choice of 30 different thread colors. This bag of fun is priceless for the hours of entertainment it holds.
MLB Team Autographed Baseball
For most ring bearers, any gift pertaining to baseball is guaranteed to be a homerun. That’s why the Personalized MLB Team Autographed Baseball in Case is a perfect choice. Available for any MLB team, this autographed ball holds the signatures of every player on their current roster. The ball is enclosed in an acrylic case with a wood-composite base. The plate on the base can be personalized with two lines of up to 20 characters per line.
Weddings are a time to celebrate love of all kinds, not just the love between a bride and a groom. Bridal party members play important roles in making a wedding special. There is no better way to show your appreciation for all they have done than with a personalized gift that thanks them with style.
